Update on Steve: November 6, 2023

Ryan was able to be Steve’s chemo buddy, it was good for him to see the setup where the healing takes place. The oncology nurse recognized Steve because her husband was one of Justin’s high school club soccer coaches. She took extra special care of him, a benefit to living in a small town.

Steve felt quite well for a few days afterward. He’s given a steroid as part of the anti-nausea cocktail, which provided energy and appetite. He’s had no nausea, but now the chemo fatigue has set in. The biggest challenge is the erratic fluctuations in his blood sugar, which affect basically everything. Friends are providing meals, as well as sending us a variety of things from the wellness registry, a lifesaver in time of need. Please pray we can stabilize his glucose numbers - it’s worrisome and stressful for us.

He’s now joined the ranks of handsome bald men!
