An unexpected crisis

Even though Steve has always led an active, healthy lifestyle with verve and enthusiasm, he began experiencing unusual symptoms in the summer of 2023. He rapidly lost weight and had a persistent cough. After weeks of testing and scans, he was diagnosed with a pleomorphic sarcoma in the psoas muscle in his back, which had metastasized to his lung. It is a rare and aggressive cancer. He will need chemotherapy first and then surgery by sarcoma specialists.
